Trinity Ladies LWML
The mission of Trinity Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to extend the Lord's work in our church, the community, and the world. By affiliation, all women of Trinity Lutheran Church are members and encouraged to serve others through mission, education, inspiration, and service.
The LWML meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. For more information, contact Donna Faiella at (845) 519-7359.
Concordia Lutheran Seminary Food Banks
The Concordia Lutheran Seminary Food Banks are located in St. Louis, Missouri and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Concordia Seminary exists to prepare the next generation of church leaders. They support and prepare their students for their future vocation, to ultimately contribute to the church with a deep commitment to Lutheran theology and practice, and in the spirit of servant leadership.
The Food Bank is a resource for these students. It provides the tremendous blessing of free groceries and household items to all Seminary students and their families.
Seminary students may shop twice a month during the academic year and once a month during the summer free of charge. The amount of food each student is eligible for is based on family size. The Food Bank allows students and their families the opportunity to stretch their resources by reducing their out-of-pocket grocery expenses.
LWML Mite Boxes
The Lutheran Women Missions League collects coin donations in a Mite Box supplied by the church. These small boxes are located in the Narthex and are available to everyone. They are collected each month and sent to the district and national level of the LWML. National mites fund over $1 million in mission grants each year.
Based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of "mites" — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on" (Mark 12:41–43).
Pillowcase Dress Ministry
The Trinity Ladies LWML transforms donated or purchased pillow cases into small beautiful dresses for little girls in Haiti. The dresses are sewn with love and care to share God's love for these children.
If you are interested in donating and/or supporting this ministry, please drop off materials in Room four. All pillow cases and sewing notions are appreciated.
If you sew and are interested in volunteering to be a part of this precious ministry, please contact Donna Faiella at (845) 519-7359 or Sharon Pruszynski at (352) 245-5271.
